Planning Notes for a women's seminar.

Notes: As Muslim women who were educators and mothers, a significant focus of their activities was consciousness-raising. Specifically, this meant introducing other women to an analysis that identified social problems and their causes and the solutions provided by [their understanding] of Islam. Notable are the publications they are using — from historic Black newspapers, like The Amsterdam News, to Black Muslim publications, such as Al-Islam and Bilalian News, to more mainstream publications, such as the Village Voice and the New York Times.
