Notes: In telling her own conversion story, Auntie or Sister Kareemah and her husband had moved to Ghana in 1972 and there they encountered Islam and became Muslims. Later in the 1980s, Kareemah would return to West Africa and ultimately move with her youngest daughter to Senegal so her daughter could become a hafidah of the Qur'an.
