Materials from the establishment of pilot weekend Islamic preschool and kindergarten, Concepts East, in Brooklyn, NY.

Notes: I found these documents, and these are not all of them, in pristine condition, in a manila folder marked “Concepts East” in green marker. They come from a school project initiated by M.E.A.R.C. The document narrates the story of the project itself, so I won't reiterate that here. I'll just note that people behind this project, like Sis. Aliyah Abdul-Karim, came with years of experience as educators and managers and were guided by a child-centered and community-centered approach to Islamic education for Black children.
