Notes: Every woman and girl in this collage was known and loved by Umi. Its creator, Sis. Bayyinah Abdus Sabur, was a beloved community member and Umi's friend. She passed away in 2010.

From her obituary: BAYYINAH AJABU ABDUS SABUR (BARBARA MAE CURRY HUMPHRIES JONES) - formerly of Atlantic City, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2010. She attended the public schools of Atlantic City and graduated from Atlantic City High School, Class of l958. She moved to New York in l958, with her husband, Lex Humphries of Philadelphia, Pa. He was a drummer with the Dizzy Gillespie Band. A son, Lex Jr., was born from this union. In l971, she converted to Islam. She remarried to Atlee Jones of Trinidad and bore two sons, Atiq and Sharif. Bayyinah trained as a dancer with the Chloe Price Dance Studio and Pattie Harris. Later, she became a designer of clothes and costumes in Brooklyn, NY. She promoted many cultural events in the arts and music world. Much of her time was spent as an activist against domestic violence in the community.
