Text message to a group chat, sent in response to a friend who forwarded a photo of herself and Ilyasah Shabazz, the daughter of El Hajj Malik El-Shabazz/Malcolm X and Dr. Betty Shabazz.

Notes: Wow, what a GREAT photo!! After reading his (Malcolm's) autobiography at the tender age of 17 yrs (in 1967), I literally “fell in love” with this icon of African-American manhood & spent many years of my idealistic youth looking for my own “Malcolm.” Never found him. As his late wife, Dr. Betty Shabazz, stated in a 1990s article in an issue of Essence Magazine, & I quote her “Malcolm was the greatest gift to this century (i.e. 20th cent).” I hope that I didn't lose that particular issue. Oh , by the way I heard that you got married recently (smile)! Mucho congratulations to you!!! Let's get together to talk soon, insh.
